Some burial arrangements suggest whole families were interred together, while other people, perhaps unknown to each other, were interred in common graves. Here a child was found buried directly atop an adult man. Little trace is left of the infant - the soft bones of children disappear more quickly than the hard skeletons of adults. Shroud pins, found in both coffins, indicate the child and man had been wrapped in funeral shrouds.
