Janet Woodruff and Jerry Sawyer
Janet Woodruff and Jerry Sawyer (center) examine artifacts at the 2004 summer field school with Tabore Rector, a student from New York City. When Rector ran out of funds for the session, Sawyer refused to let him quit, and let him camp out in his back yard for the duration of the session.
Woodruff says their work is “not about just interesting things in the past but about where our society has come from and where what we are about now.”
